The Out Patient Department is where people waiting to see doctors are brought in. This area has cubicles where doctors examine people who have come for preventive screening, treatment or follow-up. We have a very elaborate set of equipment for carrying out tests and administering treatment.

Once a patient has been examined, if necessary, further investigations are carried out.

The Institute has state-of-the-art investigative equipment. And all tests can be carried out right here. This makes it not only convenient for the patients but also helps speed up the treatment process. The Pathology Lab forms the heart of any cancer treatment centre. All treatment begins from the pathological diagnosis. Radiology forms the lung of the Cancer Treatment Centre - here is where the estimation of extent of disease is done. The executive arms of the Cancer Treatment Centre are Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and mor recently, Molecular Onclogy.

As far as treatment goes, we use a concept known as MULTI MODAL THERAPY where a patient is examined by doctors belonging to the Surgical, Medical and Radiation Oncology. Thereafter, a treatment plan is evolved using one or more modalities depending on the cancer to be treated. This has an additive effect as against using a single method. In fact, we pioneered this concept in India.

Among treatment methods, we have departments like Radiology, Cytology, Cyto genetics, Linear Accelerator, 3D Conformal Therapy, Cobalt Therapy and CItron, a concept we have pioneered by which Brachy Therapy is administered at a more affordable cost to patients.We also have IOR facilities - this unit is one of the few in the world.
