We
are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by
embracing one another.

The Cancer
Institute, since its inception has been carrying on a relentless fight
against cancer under great odds. It has striven against near
insurmountable obstacles of financial difficulties and an almost
indifferent ambience, to fulfil the objectives of its founder ...
bringing to the poorest in the land the most refined scientific
technology and excellent patient care.
We have a long list of ‘to dos’ in order to continue to deliver the best
to all of our increasing numbers of patients. Most of our financial
support has been through public philanthropy and aid from governments
and organizations abroad. Our ambitious goals in the war against cancer
would require a lot more of resources. Please join us in our initiative
and become a Friend Of The Cancer Institute.
To quote one of our former Directors,
“….we promise you that we shall wage it with skill , wisdom and valour.
But we need better and improved tools, more money for the campaign. This
war is being fought for you, your children and your children’s children.
Is it too much to ask of you your sympathy, goodwill and help?”
We need willing hands and hearts to reach out to our patients - 90% of
whom are from villages. Their numbers grow, as awareness grows that
cancer is treatable and curable. If you would like to know more about
The Cancer Institute or would like to work with us in any way, please
